Special Message - COVID-19

With the spread of the Coronavirus throughout the United States, we want to reach out to all our partners to ensure you are all up to date on the most recent information and to ultimately protect our caregivers to the best of our ability. Please read and share this information with all your staff. Below you will see there are two pdfs available to download:

  • Last week, we contacted each of our facilities HR and Employee Health departments to inquire about their facility guidelines and protocols as it relates to COVID-19. Any information that we were provided has been shared with our subcontractors who have active caregivers at those respective facilities. That information will also be shared with all future placements at those facilities. Each facility is following their local health department protocols.
  • All nursing and allied health staff should be instructed to follow the precautionary standards and protocols issued by the hospital, CDC, and local department of health.
  • We have just implemented a new change to credentialing by adding a COVID-19 checklist form to the process. One of our credentialing specialists will ask for this form to be completed during the credentialing process for every new contract or renewal that is signed. This document will be shared with your team when that time comes but you can click on the button below to download this form.
  • Should the need to fill positions become a crisis, there will not be any changes with compliance although if a caregiver has all of their documents ready to go and qualifies for a rush start, then a rush start would be considered based on the needs of the facility.
  • We ask that all of our partners be proactive by making sure all of your caregivers’ compliance is up to date and check for items that have close expiration dates to ensure you have as many nurses ready to go as you can.
  • Please make sure that all your of caregivers have updated FIT tests prior to submission and inform your caregivers that if they have had a significant change in weight or now have facial hair that they didn’t have at the time of the FIT test, a re-test is recommended since COVID-19 follows airborne precautions thus a properly fitted mask is essential to protect themselves from the virus.
  • Helpful links for information from the CDC - Preparedness Steps for Healthcare Facilities and Guidance for Potential Exposure within a Healthcare Setting
  • For any additional information or specific protocol questions, please contact the local health department of the area you or your caregiver is in - Local Health Dept Directory
  • Steps you can take to protect yourself and those around you:
    1. If you have cold-like symptoms such as a runny nose, coughing, fever, stay home and contact your doctor.
    2. Practice good hand washing techniques and using hand sanitizer.
    3. Wipe down all work areas and surfaces daily with disinfectant wipes.

We greatly appreciate your partnership and dedication to providing quality healthcare professionals to our facilities! If you need to contact a member of our Clinical or Quality Assurance teams, contact us at QA@statstaffpro.com.

A Message to our Clients

Our organization is committed to supporting you during this incredibly challenging period.  In recent days, we have seen the market for workforce staffing shift dramatically and in an unprecedented manner, particularly in areas with a high level of community transmission of the novel coronavirus.  Across our country, caregivers are demanding premium pay in order to take travel assignments.  Crisis staffing firms have swooped in and are charging their clients and offering their caregivers exceptionally high billing and pay rates, respectively.  As a result of these rapidly changing market conditions, our current contracted rates are in many instances inadequate to enable us to attract and retain quality caregivers to help meet your staffing needs during the present crisis.

In order to continue to provide you with quality caregivers in a timely manner, we may need to institute emergent and/or crisis rate tiers on a temporary basis, until the crisis subsides.  Please know that this is not something we do lightly.  As an organization, we remain committed to delivering quality caregivers and providing our clients with fair, transparent pricing at all times, including during the present pandemic.  To that end, we pledge to you that we will not derive any additional profit from the rate increases we institute.  We will pass on 100% of the increased rate to either the staffing agency partner providing the assigned caregiver or to the assigned caregiver if employed by our organization directly, deducting only the increased employer-paid taxes and mandatory insurance associated with payment of the higher wage.  By not including any additional margin for our firm in the rate increase, we will help you maximize the impact of the moneys devoted to supplemental staffing and limit to the greatest extent possible the amount of the increases that must be instituted.  We are committed to remaining your trusted staffing partner and to doing everything in our power to assist you in these trying times.  Together, we will get through this.

Working as a travel nurse: Kristina’s story

"Six years ago, I started working for Stat Staff as a per diem nurse. They provided me and my family with an excellent paying job and the flexibility we needed while growing our family.

Working per diem with Stat Staff allowed me the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom while working part-time and bringing in full-time pay. Stat Staff took really good care of me and I always felt supported and proud to work here.

Last year my husband received a job offer out west, closer to family, and within days Stat Staff Professionals offered me a job to work remotely as a recruiter and nurse mentor. It was an answered prayer. I was given the opportunity to continue to work for a company that I love and directly impact his growth and success

My passion for this company drove me to work hard to learn and develop this new skill of recruiting. Sometimes I miss working as a nurse in the field, but I enjoy finding excellent nurses to be a part of our team and I know that I'm impacting the future of healthcare."

Why Travel Nursing: Dominic's Story

"When my first child was maybe three or four, I had been working nights in a hospital for about six years and I really loved it but the overnights were I couldn't do it anymore. So I decided to go work for an insurance company in an office and that lasted about two years.

Every day I kept thinking about how in the hospital and in the ER, there were sick people there who needed my attention and all these things were going on without me and I could be there if I wanted to. And I kept thinking about the days off and the weekends and the holiday and the overnights and all these things. It just seemed impossible for me to go back to the hospital.

But I'd met a friend who worked for Stat Staff, I just happened to run into him. And he told me about the opportunities that Stat Staff had afforded him and he had more going on in his personal life than I did. He had two children and he had just bought a house and he was in school.

So I said well if this is working for him it could certainly work for me. Took me a couple months of speaking back and forth to folks who worked here. Until I finally decided it would be a good decision because I was very comfortable where I was what I wasn't happy I'm really glad that I did make the decision because now I'm both comfortable and happy."

Stat Staff has given me the job freedom every nurse would love. I get to work at multiple hospitals and make connections with various medical professionals. This is a company that supports its nurses and them furthering themselves in their career and education. I have been with the company for four and a half years and working for Stat Staff has allowed me to provide the kind of family life and lifestyle I've always wanted.
